Hi Guys,
This is a mini-break - Friday, Saturday and Sunday in and around Minehead (Optional camping or B&B). The campsite is:
Minehead Camping and Caravanning Club Site, Hill Road, North Hill, Minehead O/S Map ref 958471. Their phone number is 01643 704138. You can get to the website through Google. I checked for availability on 3 May and they had plenty of space, but I recommend booking soon to avoid disappointment.
Minehead is a resort town, about a couple of hours drive from Bristol on the North Somerset Coast. It has lovely beaches.
The sorts of things you could do include:
Walks along the South West Coast path, and anywhere else I can try out around there beforehand, Frisbee on the beach (sorry, no sandcastle-building as planning applic rejected), Steam railway trip to Bishops Lydeard (about £14). Visit to Dunster Castle (about £8.60), Pony-trekking (£20-£30), eating fish and chips, and cream teas, day-trip to Butlins (about £15), maybe a pint or two at the nearest pub.
Mike Winston
Ps: If anyone has any spare space in their car to offer lifts please let me know.
Hello everyone
July 25th. Saturday night at the pub in Westbury-on-Trym. Start out at the WHITE LION on Passage Road, (BS9 3HN) at 8pm. It's a large pub with a nice beer garden so if it's a nice evening meet there. If it's not meet inside. There are several pubs in Westbury so we can move on to sample some of the others too. Later on, it's a short bus ride to Clifton for the night owls.....
Make sure you go to the right pub, there's another one opposite the Post Office called the White Horse. If you find yourself there head in the opposite direction from the roundabout and war memorial and it's not far.
If you are new call Suzanne or Chrissie before and we'll arrange to meet you there or let us know when you arrive. The signal can be a bit dodgy there so probably best to get in touch before!
Suzanne and Chrissie
PS: Buses run to Westbury from the Centre, Cribbs and also from Cotham/Arches along Kellaway.
Hi all,
Ceilidhs are great fun - dancing various patterns as described by the caller. No stress - it doesn't matter if you get it wrong. The venue is the Sulis Club on Claverton Down Road in Bath. It starts at 7.30pm and goes on till 11. It costs £8 for a ticket and you can call them to reserve one on 01225 311634. The website can be found by putting "bath ceilidh" into google. There is free parking on site.
Send me an email if you fancy coming, or just turn up and I'll see you there.
Mike Winston
Below this point are past events.
Does this make you feel rather tense?
If you think: "Drat!
I would have gone to that!"
Don't mope around so glum,
Just put on another one.
