Private Peaceful, Theatre Production, Tuesday 21st September

We will be going to see ' Private Peaceful ' at the BOV Studio, King Street on Tuesday 21st Sept. So, if you need an antidote to Mary Poppins it would be good to see you there!

The tickets cost £10/£7 concessions and it starts at 7.30pm. As it is unreserved seating in the Studio, could I ask people to book their own tickets on 0117 9877877. Please let me know if you are coming along.

"A fine, humane achievement, which brings history to life. Paul Chequer gives a haunting central performance." Venue,2004.

This story by Michael Morpurgo relives the life of a young First World War soldier awaiting the firing squad at dawn.

Look forward to seeing you there. We will be in the bar from 7pm onwards.

Pub Night, 23rd September

The next group pub night is:

Thursday 23rd Sept at the Naval Volunteer, King St, Bristol, 8.45pm

Pub Crawl, October 1st

I reckon its about time for another pub crawl. I've checked out St Michaels hill and although I can find 4 good pubs to go to they may all be a bit samey. Instead I'd prefer it it we skirted the brow of the hill. So heres the itinerary.

The Brewery tap 7:30.

Right next to the brewery opposite the hospital. A classic real ale pub not massive but lets face it its as good a place as any to start.

Zero degrees 8:30

Spot for all the bright young things so we should fit in perfectly. Food is fine but the waiting times are horrendous from my experience. Mock industrial landscape, with the only black lager in town (as far as I know). Excellent view over medieval Bristol. See you on the balcony.

The Ship 9:30

Cosy old boozer on many levels, with a friendly lancastrian landlady, beer is ok. Sofa's are comfy. Not a great but a good pub.

The White Hart (Scream) 10:30

Student boozer. Bright and loud but has a certain brash charm even if its only for nostalgia's sake. Hardly an ideal end to the evening but it is at least near to park street and a couple of clubs if people want to continue on into the morning. It also has loads of pool tables if people can blag
their way on.

Any body who wishes to come is welcome I'll endeavour to be on my best behaviour. Sobriety is also (on my part) a possibility.
