Something for October 6th
Hiya!
Calling all you closet clubbers. Since a lot of the Bristol Active members are involved with a cross-dressing event on Friday 6th (i.e Rocky Horror Show), I thought those of you who aren't may be interested in going dancing. It has been a while since the last clubbing outing. I am meeting a few friends at Zero Degrees, the micro brewery at the top of Christmas Steps at 8:30pm. We will then head onto Panache in All Saints Street for their 70/80/90s evening. This isn't a pub night I am organising - primary objective is clubbing and having a good time. Feel free to join in if you want to have some fun.

The Hitmakers Tour at the Colston Hall on Thurs 2nd Nov
Hiya!
Does anyone out there fancy going back to the 1980's for one night only?
If so, how about coming along to The Hitmakers Tour at the Colston Hall on Thurs Nov 2nd.
Playing will be:

Andrea's 21st Birthday Pub Treasure Hunt
Hi!
To celebrate Andrea's 21st birthday on the Sat 14th October, we are
organising a pub treasure hunt!
Venue and Time - Basically turn up at the Waterfront Pub between
7.30 and 8.30pm on the night. We will then split people into teams
of 4 or 5 and they will head off on the pub treasure hunt.
How it Works - Each team will be given a clue and the time that they
need to be in each pub. Questions relating to each pub will be given
at the beginning of the night, and there will be a final clue which
will direct you to the next pub. Points will be awarded by the
judges for correct answers. Each team will also have some 'tasks' to
do during the evening which will be marked by the judges. The
winning team will be the one with the most points gained during the
evening.
Please note that bribing of judges is ALLOWED! I also require some
team captains (beside Andrea), so if you are interested, please let
me know.
The aim of the night is to celebrate Andrea's birthday in style and
have lots of fun!
Everyone is welcome, particularly new members!

Wye Valley Walk - Sat 21st Oct
Hiya!
It starts in Chepstow Leisure Centre Car Park O/S grid ref 529944 (Across the M48 Old Severn Bridge £4.90 toll, A466, Right at roundabout on to A48, left on B4293, through Chepstow, and up the hill to the school and leisure centre on the right - watch for a brown sign on the left hand side of the road). The walk includes a pass by the race course, through Piercefield Country Estate and past the ruined 18th Century house. Then there are some views of the river far below. The meet point will be Chepstow Leisure Centre car park 1pm 21 October. At a slow pace we should be finshed by 3pm.
If you let me know you are coming I will see if I can match up people and cars to share costs.

Halloween Pub Crawl - Sat 28th Oct
Hiya!
As its the nearest Saturday to Halloween we thought we would have a themed pub crawl. scary costumes are optional however (and some of us dont need them!), so come along anyway.
There will be a pint of blood for the best dressed.
The crawl will start at The Ship on Park Row at 7.30pm, then head to The 3 Sugarloafs near Christmas Steps for 8.30- 9.45 then the Bunch of Grapes on Denmark St from 9.45.

Wotton-under-Edge Walk - Sunday 5th November
Hiya!
Wotton-under-Edge Walk & Sunday Lunch 5 November. This is about 5 miles, following part of the Cotswold way as far as Wortley, and then looping back to Wooton across farmland. It includes a good climb through woods, some gorgeous views, and a good chance of seeing some pheasants. Back in Wooton we have a well-earned Sunday lunch (about £8) and maybe a pint, at the Falcon Pub. I will book a table based on the number of people who confirm they want to have lunch. This event shouldn't clash with any Fireworks shows - I was back home by 3pm on my recent visit.
Start point - St Mary The Virgin Parish Church (good parking on road opposite) O/S grid ref ST 760 934. Meet in front of the church at 11am.
Directions - leave the M5 at Junction 14. Take the B4509 east to Charfield Hill. B4058 to Wooton-under-Edge. Right turn on to B4060. Left at War memorial roundabout. St Mary's church is on your right.
Bring drinking water, waterproof clothing, walking boots, & money for pub.
Please let me know if you want to come on the walk, and if so let me know by Sat 28 Oct whether you want to have lunch at the Falcon.
