Hiya!
North Stoke Walk Sunday 24 February 2008. Meet at 11am at St Martin's Church (with a lowish tower) in North Stoke. O/S Map 172 ref ST 704692. This is a 3 mile walk, but with a good climb to start it. The walk goes up from the church to the site of an old fort. The views from here back to Kingswood and the River Avon are rather spiffing. The walk then goes across a race course, around a golf-course, and back past Brockham End Woods to the church. Afterwards we could stop for a drink at the Swan Inn in Swineford.
Directions - A431 east out of Bristol (there is a link to it off the A4174 ringroad). Go through Bitton and Swineford, then look for a small finger-post pointing a left turn to North Stoke. It is a steep hill. Once you get up into the hamlet park somewhere and walk up to the church, which is small and old and has no parking outside.
Bring drinking water, waterproof clothing, walking boots, money for pub.
Let me know by email or facebook message if you want to come on the walk. As ever, all walkers attend at their own risk.
cheers

Hello,
On the 8th March, we will be holding another new members night at a pub in Central Bristol.
We all realise how nerve wracking and difficult it can to be meet a group of strangers, so on these nights we try and make it as easy as possible.
Invites to the event are sent to members who have joined us in the last six months and attending on the night will be a handful of Bristol Active regulars who will explain and introduce how the group works.
So, if you are a new member or a potential member, please feel free to come along. It is a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and you will be in the majority of people who are completely new to Bristol Active. The last new members night attracted over 30 completely new members to the group.
For further information, please email bristolactive@hotmail.com and we will give you further details.
