Goodrich Walk - Sunday 19 September 2010

Hiya!

The Goodrich Walk is on Sunday 19 September 2010. Meet me at 11am outside the Goodrich CE Primary School (Postcode HR9 6HY). This is a 5 mile walk which includes a steep climb up Coppet Hill (188 metres) and some beautiful views all around from the top. There is a chance of seeing pheasant, snake (I saw my first wild one on the try-out), combine-harvesters and a castle if you keep your eyes open.  The walk runs for a while alongside the river Wye, but does not cross it. It takes about 2.5 hours.
Directions - M4 west to M48 (old Severn bridge crossing) - Have £5.50 ready for the toll. Leave straight after the bridge at junction 2, take the A466 to Monmouth. Turn Right on to the A40. Pass Whitchurch and leave at the second junction after that. It is marked "Goodrich". Drive over the A40. Keep on until you reach the B4229, turn left on to it, and then left again soon after. You are now outside the school, O/S Landranger 162 Grid Ref SO 574 193.
Bring drinking water, waterproof clothing, walking boots, money for pub at the end. we might have a meal there if you fancy it.
Send me an email or Facebook Message to let me know if you want to come on the walk. As ever, all walkers attend at their own risk. The walk is not suitable for the elderly or infirm.

cheers

Poetry (Vogon Standard)

Below this point are past events.

Does this make you feel rather tense?

If you think: "Drat!

I would have gone to that!"

Don't mope around so glum,

Just put on another one.
